Class" aims particularly at satisfying the
specific demands of Alitalia passengers. What
sets off Magnifica, the intercontinental class
offered by Alitalia, is the special attention
given to personal space, rich decoration,
convenient features, and even more refined on
board service. The quality of the menus, the
choice of wines, the comfort of the seats, the
scheduled films and a lot of other small and big
conveniences and technological innovations have
been included to make Magnifica express the most
classic values of Italian hospitality and
transform every flight, whether for business or
pleasure, into a pleasant trip.
Immediately after being welcomed on board by the
flight crew, the first thing you will notice is
the spacious comfort of the "Capri" seats in
Magnifica. Very wide, fully reclining, totally
automatic with electric controls, the brand new
seats in Magnifica Class (30 seats on the MD11,
36 on the B747 and 25 on the B767) are the very
best: grouped in pairs only, they are a full 1.4
metres both from the row of seats in front and
behind. What distinguishes these seats are their
elegant upholstery in fabric with leather
accents, fully powered adjustments, articulated
and rotating tables tucked away in the arm rest,
seat backs that can recline up to 54° and
footrests that can be adjusted up to 75° from
the vertical. Moreover, to guarantee you even
more comfort, seats in Magnifica are grouped
only in pairs. But it is not enough for you to
be comfortably snuggled away in your seat,
listening to your favorite musical program, if
you are missing somebody. You can call that
person on the phone. Magnifica Class is equipped
with a digital quality satellite telephone
system for each pair of seats (found in the
armrest of the MD11 and B767, and as a cordless
on the bulkhead of the B747) and 4 cordless
phones on the bulkhead of the B 747.
Of course, the food and wine are magnificent
too. The menus of Magnifica, prepared in
consultation with internationally renowned
chefs, include the best recipes of the Italian
tradition, which has made Italian cooking famous
throughout the world, as well as a selection of
the best international dishes. From the starter
to dessert, what is served is fresh food, not
overly prepared, with delicate flavors…. Special
menus are also available for those who have
special dietetic and religious needs. The choice
of D.O.C. and D.O.C.G. wines is wide and
reliable, from among the best vintages of Italy.
