Customers in First Class and Business Class on
flights across the Atlantic, the Pacific, and to
select cities in South America are enjoying
all-new entrée selections designed largely by
two well-known chefs from Chicago. Nancy Barocci
of Convito Italiano (in suburban Wilmette), and
Michael Foley of Printer's Row, both members of
American's Chefs' Conclave, helped develop a
series of recipes that have been receiving raves
from content diners on board the Boeing 767s and
777s.
The new entrées are a combination of well-known
American foods, like a Yankee Pot Roast made
with filet mignon, as well as "comfort foods"
well known overseas, such as Spanish Paella, a
rich melange of seafood, rice, and vegetables.
American has also added three new soups and new
a la carte vegetables in First Class for
customers who want lighter options. Its Conclave
Chefs are helping American bring simple, elegant
meals such as shrimp and scallop risotto and
lamb chops with rosemary sauce to international
customers.
American has designed a new First Class Service
on select late night departures to and from
Latin America. Conclave Chef Alice Waters and a
team of South American Chefs completed extensive
menu development and culinary research. Late
Night Supper is a dining alternative that gives
customers the ability to enjoy onboard service
while providing them more time to rest during
the flight.

seatback, new, more comfortable leather and
cloth upholstery, six-way adjustable leather
headrest, a personal reading light, individual
telephones with satellite communications, a
personal video monitor w/10-channel programming
(B777 only), and laptop power ports.
